Find The Best Wireless Cell Phone

So you’ve decided to break down and buy a wireless cell phone, or perhaps you’ve had one for years and you are just looking for the latest and greatest model. Either way, there are hundreds (if not thousands) of options out there, along with the plans that accompany them, so the choice can be confusing. Here is a quick guide to finding the best cell phone plans for you.

1. Identify What You Need The Phone For

Before you go to the store or pull up the shopping site, think about what you really need the phone for. When you get to the store the sales people (who work on commission) will try to sell you on all the bells and whistles, and drive up the price. If you don’t really need a QWERTY keyboard (that’s a full keyboard for non text messagers) or a full internet browser in your phone, you really shouldn’t pay for one that does. If you don’t want it you probably won’t use it!

2. Find The Wireless Cell Phone Plan For You

The good news with this is that there is so much competition in the cell phone wireless market today that you will find some really great plans. Think about how much you use the phone, when you use it and who you talk to. If you use the phone primarily at night, buy a lower minute plan and add on the unlimited nights and weekends plan. Cell phone companies are willing to give you nights and weekends for free because they make the bulk of their money on business people. Also, if you talk primarily to family, find out what plan your family has and take advantage of a plan that gives you free "in network" calls.

3. Limit The Wireless Plan Add Ons

If you’ve never sent a text message and you have no intention of using GPS or checking your email on your phone, why would you consider paying for the plan? Take a look at the plan details and see if these features are included. Odds are if they are included then you are paying too much. The big cell phone companies have lots of options and are usually willing to negotiate plans to get you to lock in for a couple years. Be aggressive and you will find the wireless cell phone plan that is right for you!
